Volumul simplu și masiv al reședinței familiei POPESCU este marcat de căutările timpurii ale arhitectului în arhitectura de inspirație locală. Un volum înalt de două niveluri, lat de o singură travee, este compus cu celelalte volume, mai mult orizontale ale vilei, fiind preluat de arhitect din corpul cu foișor al arhitecturii tradiționale de zidărie.

Intrarea ‘decupată’ în colțul unuia dintre volume, este compusă din două arce perpendiculare în plan, care sprijină pe un pilastru masiv din zidărie. Arcele, de asemenea din zidărie sunt temperate cu tiranți metalici, transformând acest colț într-un veritabil eveniment arhitectural, chiar dacă epurarea elementelor îi împrumută un aer discret. Friza este realizată tot într-un vocabular tradițional, alternând rânduri de zidărie în dinți de fierăstrău de diferite dimensiuni și pași.

Tâmplăria pare să fie cea originală, fapt uimitor pentru o reședință privată care depășește 100 de ani vechime. 

The simple and massive volume of the POPESCU residence is marked by the architects’ early questions addressed to local architecture. A two-level-high, single-façade-bay-wide volume is composed with the other mostly horizontal volumes of the villa, inspired by the entrance tower found in traditional masonry architecture.

The entrance, cutaway in the corner of one of the volumes, is composed from two arches at a right angle from each other in plan, that unload their weights onto a massive masonry pilaster. The masonry arches are held together by metal thrusts, transforming this corner into a genuine architectural event, even though the cleansing of the elements gives it a discrete look. The frieze is made within a traditional vocabulary as well, alternating various sizes of saw teeth masonry motifs.

The wooden window frames seem to be the original ones, which is amazing for a private residence older than a century.
