1923-24 Strada Matei Millo 7
Cele două aripi ale clădirii se racordează prin intermediul unui volum de colț. Acesta este clar evidențiat față de restul clădirii, nu prin înălțime, ci prin detașarea de planul fațadelor, prin amplasarea accesului în această travee și prin realizarea unei arcade înalte de două niveluri, dezvoltată pe toată înălțimea registrului median.
Vocabularul clasicizant Ludovic XIV al primelor două registre ne ridică semne de întrebare dacă ultimul registru și mansarda sunt rezultatele unei supraînălțări ulterioare, care ar fi înlocuit o mansardă mai lucrată, cu lucarne mai atent detaliate.
Pe lotul de vis-a-vis aceeași instituție a ridicat două corpuri de clădire din trei proiectate de Paul SMĂRĂNDESCU, la adresa Strada Matei Millo 10. Unul dintre aceste corpuri a fost și supraînălțat. În prezent acestea nu mai există, fiind probabil demolate ulterior bombardamentelor din 1944.
The two wings of the building connect through a corner volume. This volume is clearly distinguished from the rest of the building, not through height, but by detachment from the façades, by placing the entrance within this façade bay, and by creating a two-level arch developed throughout the entire height of the middle registry.
The classical Louis XIV vocabulary of the first two registries raises question marks regarding the last registry and the mansard and if they are the result of a ulterior modification, that would have substituted mansard with more carefully detailed dormers.
On the plot of land across the street the same company built two other buildings out of a total of three others also designed by Paul SMĂRĂNDESCU, at Strada Matei Millo 10. One of these wings even received an additional floor. Nowadays these are no longer standing, as they were probably demolished after the 1944 bombings.
