Vila Cotescu marchează o maturitate în abordare pentru opera arhitectului: racordul cu terenul, în speță scara pe care se iese în grădină, devine mai sofisticat, iar friza devine un element mult mai prezent, depășind rolul de simplu unificator de volume și devenind un actor în sine. 

Deși este dificil de observat din cauza vegetației spontane scăpate de sub control, unul din elementele cel mai atent lucrate este un volum de racord, sera definită de trei arce susținute de coloane și pilaștri de factură Neoromânească. Contraforții dubli contribuie plastic la masivitatea și ancorarea vilei în sol, păstrând totuși o eleganță incontestabilă a fațadelor.

Vila inginerului Alexandru COTESCU, directorul general al CFR a fost ridicată de antrepriza Leopold SCHINDL și a costat circa 120.000 de lei în anul 1911.

Cotescu Villa marks a certain maturity in the approach within the architects’ work: the connection to the soil, notably the staircase that leads toward the garden, becomes more sophisticated, while the frieze develops into a more important element, overcoming the role of a simple volume unifier, becoming in itself an actor.

Although it is difficult to see, due to the overgrown spontaneous vegetation, one of the most carefully detailed elements is a connection volume, the winter garden defined by the three arches resting on Neoromanian pillars. The double buttresses bring an aesthetic contribution to the mass of the villa and to the way it is anchored into the ground, at the same time preserving an incontestable elegance of the façades.

The villa for engineer Alexander COTESCU, the general manager of the Romanian railway company, was built in 1911 by contractor Leopold SCHINDL for 120.000lei.
