Imobil tributar Neoromânescului matur al lui Paul SMĂRĂNDESCU, Sanatoriul Dr. Andrei A. Antoniu, actualmente Spitalul Militar de Urgență este una dintre clădirile cele mai impunătoare de pe această stradă veche a Bucureștiului. Friza cu motive florale, amplu dezvoltată, îmbrățișează ancadramentul celor trei ferestre ale bovindoului. Bovindoul în sine apare ca o concluzie a fațadei principale, ferestrele scării urcând încet spre acestea, arătându-l ca final de compoziție ascendentă. Senzația de masivitate a bovindoului este întărită de dedublarea consolelor, lăsând impresia că o greutate mare descarcă prin cele două elemente atent lucrate.
Un alt element care atrage atenția este poarta triplă integrată în desenul de fațadă. Poarta pentru acces auto este împodobită cu propriul ei acoperiș, așezat peste un arc trilobat.
Imobilul a fost finalizat în 1913 de antrepriza I. CSUR și a costat aproximativ 1.000.000 de lei.
A building belonging to the mature Neoromanian style developed by Paul SMĂRĂNDESCU, Sanatoriul Dr. Andrei A. Antoniu, nowadays Spitalul Militar de Urgență is one of the most imposing buildings on this old Bucharest street. The ample floral motif frieze, embraces the triple window frame on the bow window. The bow window itself stands out as a conclusion of the main façade, seeing how the stair case windows climb towards it, pointing it out as the end of an ascending composition. The massive feel of the bow window is strengthened by the doubling of the cantilever supports, implying that a very large weight is unloaded through the carefully detailed elements.
Another element that catches the eye is the triple gate, integrated into the design of the façade. The vehicle gate has its’ own roof, on top of a trefoil arch
The building was finished in 1913 under contractor I. CSUR for approximately 1.000.000lei.
