Imobilul cu apartamente situat la intersecția străzilor A.D. Xenopol și Cristofor Columb impresionează prin masivitatea atât a volumului general cât și a celor două bovindouri așezate simetric față de bisectoarea intersecției. Consolele impresionante și grinzișoarele mimate pe care sprijină aceste bovindouri contribuie la senzația că un efort supraomenesc a fost depus pentru a face aceste volume să plutească.
Ancadramentele și brâurile decorative sunt epurate, specifice perioadei de început a arhitecturii lui SMĂRĂNDESCU, contribuind și ele la masivitatea Neoromânescului acestei clădiri.
The building at the corner of A.D. Xenopol and Cristofor Columb impresses through the massive look of both the general volume and of the two symmetrical bow windows. The impressive supports and the false beams that hold up the bow windows pitch in for the sensation that an incredible effort has been invested to make these volumes float.
The window frames and the profiles are cleansed, typical for the beginning period of Paul SMĂRĂNDESCU’s architecture, contributing to the heaviness of this buildings’ Neoromanian style.
